 This blog was created for a Brock University’s Professional and Continuing Studies program.

I am enrolled in EDUC 9N524 - 001 Teaching & Learning through E-Learning in the online 2025 Late Summer Continuing Teacher Education section.

This course began on on Monday, July 21, 2025, and ends on September 14, 2025. 

As part of my Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Requirements, I must take 1.5 courses of Professional Development (PD). This is an Additional Qualification (AQ) within Schedule C.

I was provided with an email address at Brock University (ce_mlesser@brocku.ca) and the course is run through Brightspace.

I'm using an APP called Pulse to access parts of the course.

I chose this course so I can teach online to students who attend school in Canada.

At the Ottawa Catholic School Board the main platform for course delivery is Brightspace, but I’ve also seen a lot of teachers mixing in Google Classroom since it’s so familiar & easy for students. Makespace and the SDGs

1) Review the resource page & find a resource that can be integrated into both an eLearning environment and addresses STEM. THE RESOURCE PAGE   I really liked the Data Explorers on Minecraft Education resource from The World’s Largest Lesson . It lets students use data skills inside Minecraft to explore climate issues, perfect for STEM and for digital learning.
