TPACK - Holistic Approach to technology-enhanced learning
Hey Folks,

So I tried to do my homework and check out the link for Designing with TPACK but it looks like the site is down. I even switched browsers, trying Chrome and DuckDuckGo, but no luck. If anyone managed to get it open you are officially more tech savvy than me this week.
On to TPACK itself. I like how it breaks things into the big three Tech, Pedagogy, and Content and then smooshes them together into that Venn diagram sweet spot. What jumps out for me in an international school context is how equity fits right into the model. If your Tech knowledge is sharp but your students cannot access the devices or Internet consistently then that circle collapses fast. Equity in eLearning is basically making sure every kid has a fair shot at reaching that center space whether that means loaner devices, translation tools, or building lessons that work offline when needed.

My strength in this model is definitely the Pedagogy side. As a Social Studies teacher I can design inquiry tasks, debates, and simulations all day long. Where I get tripped up is the Tech circle. I can navigate the basics and I have survived the great Zoom breakout room era but sometimes I feel like I am always a step behind the latest platform. Half the time I am Googling how to fix my own glitch while the kids are already screen sharing their memes.

Still, I like that TPACK reminds us the goal is not just shiny gadgets it is finding that overlap where good teaching meets strong content and technology that actually makes sense. When it clicks the lesson feels seamless and the students hardly notice we are using a tool at all.
Cheers from Taiwan,
Mike
